An Educator and Mentor

Meg has made it her personal mission to educate all audiences as to the importance of forest conservation and why it matters.  She has actively mentored the next generation of scientists of all ages, especially women throughout her career.  As a mother and new grandmother, she’s intentionally focused on creating and preserving a healthy planet for future generations. 

“I believe that a science-literate citizen is someone who knows where their water and food come from and recognizes the complexities of the biological systems that keep his/her environment healthy. Most citizens simply do not have the facts. Giving every citizen clear explanations and stories as to how they can help to keep the planet healthy for their grandkids is a critical obligation of us scientists.”
