CanopyMeg at Wildlife Conservation Awareness Day in Malaysia

CanopyMeg Lowman presented the keynote speech to launch the special Conservation Day in Malaysia, hosted by Her Royal Highness Raja Zarith Sofiah of Johor, Malaysia, on 2 April 2013.

Below are some images of the audience, the panel of prominent Malaysian government scientists and officials, and Dr. Meg presenting her talk.

At the end of the presentation, Her Royal Highness was so inspired that she has pledged to create a national Malaysian competition, whereby 12 students and 4 teachers will win a trip to the Nature Research Center in Raleigh, North Carolina as a prize. The competition just opened in June 2013, and students have until the end of the year to submit their essays and projects, with winners announced in Malaysia next March 2014. HRH is committed to reducing wildlife trafficking in Asia, and conservation of their biodiversity throughout Malaysia and beyond.
