A New Book Featuring Florida Icons, including CanopyMeg, has been released: “Made in Florida: Artists, Celebrities, Activists, Educators, and Other Icons in the Sunshine State” by Art Levy.
Excerpt from an interview with the author, Art Levy, in Florida Trend Magazine:
Speaking to Meg Lowman in 2008 was an education, too. When I interviewed her, she was a professor at New College of Florida and one of the world’s foremost forest canopy researchers. She was also the first person I interviewed who used the term “climate change.” I didn’t understand what it meant, honestly, but she explained it to me and spoke about its potential impact on the Everglades, native plants and animals, the Florida coast and the rainforests. I wonder what she’d say about climate change now, 11 years later. Lowman was a very gracious, polite person, so she probably wouldn’t say “I told you so,” although I wouldn’t blame her if she did.
